Disinfecting your footwear before going to your rabbitry, changing your clothes if you've been in quarantine area, etc should become common for you. We need to limit the spread of this deadly to rabbits disease. ARBA takes this matter very seriously. They have a whole section dedicated to spreading awareness.

I have some news to share. I know it's been a spell hasn't it? Covid certainly hit our hobby hard here in Ontario. First: Forest City Rabbit Club is moving forward with plans for a fall show. We are going to anticipate we have no further lock downs as more and more people are getting double vaccines. We are having a club meeting on August 21st and we invite you to come on out! Second: Spencerville has decided not to host a show this year. Hopefully we'll see them back in 2022!!!! If anyone has news about other rabbit shows let us know eh?
We're looking for members! Yes, folks it's that time of year. Submit your membership renewals to your local clubs. Talk to your rabbit friends and those that you sell bunnies too. Encourage our hobby here in Ontario. Let's keep the club alive and well here in Ontario!
Forest City contact John. Sorba Contact Lena. Eastern contact Jessica. Kitchener-Waterloo contact this email. $20/family for three years. $10/individual for three years. Act now! Don't be late! Covid won't last forever and the shows next year will be great don't you think? As you may recall we had emails and facebook messages flying about in the month of November about making changes to the organization of the club.
End result: for this year things will stay the same. All three clubs will charter independently and ORORC will remain the overarching club. BUT next year things might change. Let's everyone talk up the benefits of being part of a club, the comradery, the knowledge base, the ability to show and get legs on our rabbits and the fun talking rabbits all day at a show (if we so choose). Hello Rabbit breeders of Ontario : I hope this post finds everyone safe and in good health. For sure these are very difficult times .This year 2020 will be known as the year that no ARBA shows were held- lets hope for a better 2021. A MUST READ: FYI : At this time Ontario has OCRC ( Ontario Council of Rabbit clubs ) it is a Chartered state/provincial club with ARBA There MUST be at least 3 local chartering clubs under OCRC . At this time OCRC has the following charting local clubs : SORBA ( Rockton Show) Kitchener/Waterloo ( Meaford show) FCRBC (Komoka Show once Dorchester ) For Local clubs to charter they must have # members -and full executive- they must charter with ARBA yearly. I have been in contact with all of the local clubs .All 3 of these clubs are now finding themselves struggling -some with lack of members ,some with lack of $$ ,some with lack of members willing to take executive positions . If we loose just 1 of these clubs the ARBA rabbit shows and ARBA hobby in Ontario disappear After communicating with ARBA it seems OCRC could possibly change their charter from state/prov. to a local club.??/ Then the province would have just 1 executive - shows could be planned and held throughout the province by committees . Keeping the individuality of each show intact. We could become a active invincible force . It is unfortunate that because of the pandemic restrictions here in Ontario OCRC has not been able to gather and hold a meeting to discuss -change of executive ( we are well over 2 years) and vote. Response Requested! It seems most folk are on social media (FB) .
I am hoping ALL that read this please respond - either comment on this post - or private message or email [email protected] No comment is insignificant . OCRC and LOCAL CLUBS are ALMOST at a critical point - 2021 could be a make or break year . Hoping to hear from you : Stay Safe and Healthy Here's to a strong ARBA commitment in Ontario. |
